An SLK (assuming you really mean SLK and not CLK) is not a W209. It's an R something - like R171.

The short answer is that I don't know because that model was not sold in the US. I always thought the 200 had a kompressor by definition, so that shows how much I know. I also assumed that every clk was available as a coupe or convertible. But probably the best way to find out is to search ebay or whatever other large car selling sites are online wherever you live. If there are none for sale, that's a pretty good indication none were made.

The CLK200 was available without a Kompressor....but only in W208 shape. The CLK200 W209 has a Kompressor (belt driven supercharger) and of course was available as a hard roof or cabriolet version....at least in the UK. With fuel being virtually free in the US (LOL) they never bothered importing the small engine variants .....unlike here where fuel touched $10 (US) per imperial gallon a while back. Luckily now its back down to about £5.22 (about $6.70 US). Hence the reason about 70% of all cars sold in the UK are diesel.

List of available engines in the W209 is about third of way down this linked page (note all 200s are Kompressored!)

Yes. Only the diesels, I.e. Turbos; 220, 270, 320, weren't offered as a cabriolet. Unusually for the time in the UK at least, with many other marques offering diesel variants of their cabriolets.

How much is diesel fuel in the UK? I get gas discounts for buying groceries, so I usually get 40 or 50 cents off a gallon when I fill up, so I pay right around $2.00/gallon for premium when I fill up usually. I wonder how much gas would have to increase before I would actually think about driving less. When it hit around $4.00 briefly it made no difference, but $10 or even $6.70 would be hard to swallow in a big V8 on the 3,000 mile road trips I love to take.

Premium diesel at the minute is around £1.25/L. Regular is about 1.10-1.15/L

In US gal, that's about £4.75/4.30/gal, with the weaker pound atm, it's not quite as many dollars as it would have been. So at this moment in time, anywhere between $5.25reg and $6prem/gal.

About 60% of the cost is duty/tax and then there's a further 20% value tax on top.

Predictions say that our usual Autumn drop in fuel prices isn't happening, and it's likely to increase a few pennies further. Mostly due to the pound.
