CLK500 Dyno
Hey guys, I wanna see how much HP my car is making. It has 113,00 miles and it's an '05 CLK500. HP mods are: ECU and exhaust.
What precautions should I look for before taking my car for a dyno? I don't want to damage the car !
Thanks!
EDIT: Got the dyno done, the exhaust nearly destroyed my ears! Here's a video of the run.

You should be fine, a dyno shouldn't add extra stress that a highway pull wouldnt. Please post your results when you get them! And let us know which dyno it was performed on.

Should be plenty of dynos in your area. I would recommend finding a dyno day with a group. Usually, dyno places do not want to hook a car up for just one quick pull.

So I did a few runs. They had a hard time holding it in the gear that they wanted (5th gear), so most of the runs was in 4th gear. I made 270WHP and 305 WTQ
They got one 5th gear pull in and it made 280 WHP and 315 WTQ. I was really satisfied with the numbers and it was really loud as well. Pictures and videos will be coming later.

Damn those are some healthy numbers!! Do dynojets tend to read a little high? The 5 speed tends to suck the power from the engine, so Im surprised to see such high numbers.

My car has the 7-speed transmission. I was surprised by the torque. With a 15% drivetrain loss, that's 370 torque! Does anyone know the actual drivetrain loss percentage?

Total hp loss from the crank to the wheels is about 30%. The torque numbers will be close. The loss is the drivetrain plus all the other stuff under your hood that makes it a Mercedes....
The dynojet is about 10% higher than a mustang dyno for a 300-400 hp vehicle.
