Possible to install aftermarket heated seat warmers?

Hey everyone,
I really want to install seat warmers in my daily clk320. I am looking for a budget route. I was thinking of purchasing aftermarket heat elements and wiring them up to the oem switch, everything can be purchased on ebay. Has anyone ever done this before? Is this possible? Any tips?

Thanks!

Anything is possible if you have the time, money and you hire the right knowledgeable person, however do a good search before you start the project!!

Search it, I have seen threads where people have replaced broken OEM heater strips with ebay carbon ones. From what I understand they work but not as well. Basically one would peel off the seat covers, lay the strips and plug them in the appropriate terminals, since you have no existing strips the wiring part will be a little more difficult. BTW I will say this is my first car with heated seats and they are nice, my wife will cry if they break.

I've searched and read plenty of threads here about fixing broken heating elements. I can't seem to find the exact info i need, ill keep trying though. The difference with these threads are, they already have the wires ran and oem switch in place. What i really need to know is how to wire to this switch. I've already talked to my interior guy, he will be installing the heating elements into the seat and sewing them in. The only thing is he is not sure about is using the OE switch. I do not have the seat heaters now and i do not believe any wires are run for them.

I guess i was just wondering if anyone knew how that oem upper switch panel was wired up. Is it just a wire plug that goes into it or are there separate plugs for each switch?

Also look in the 208 forum. There are some good threads about it.
