CLK MY04 vs MY05, differences????

What are the differences between the MY04 and MY05 makes.

So far it appears the changes are;

DVD based Nav to replace the CD.
New instrument Cluster
Revised Centre stack.

Can anyone ellaborate or clarify with their source on the list above.

Also, anyone know of any exterior changes.

I would have thought that the instrument cluster would stay the same as it is, and only the center dome will change.

Don't forget that the 500's will get the shift buttons on the back of the steering wheel, unless you get the Wood/Leather wheel option! I know that I posted this earlier, but wanted to add to this thread as well!!!!

Is it looking like MY05 will still be a CLK 320?

These are just my thoughts, but I would be surprised if MB just 'dropped' in the new M272 3.5 V6 into the range without some sort of press release announcing it. I mean, after all, it's a pretty new and important engine range.

I would expect that it would come in with a raft of other changes like the 7-speed auto, new suspension tweaks that the C-Class has just received as part of its facelift, new audio, etc and that this won't occur until next year at the earliest to give time for production to ramp up on the new engines and gearboxes.

I would have thought initially that the update to the interior centre dome would have been done the same time as a new engine, etc, but thinking about it, most of the press criticisms have come from the quality of the interior. A minor update certainly can't do any harm in that respect!

So, I'm not expecting much more from the MY05 models and would look more towards the MY06 models or beyond for more mechanical updates like new engines and 7-speed autos.

These are just my views though....

Does anyone else here think they should still retain the current instrument cluster? I think by changing it the CLK will be no more than a glorified C-class.

I expect the instrument cluster will stay the same and the centre dome will be the only thing that will change.

The instrument cluster is absolutely fine imho

I think the new c class instrument cluster is nicer but I too would like the clk's to be different by remaining the same. I always commented on the center stack lighting not matching the blue of the cluster but figured MB was just clearing out the rest of the old style supply and some day it would all match. Most of the changes for 05 seem to be right on target.

The 7 speed

New centerstack etc.

DVD Based command

Sport steering wheel w/ shift buttons

Possible dual exhaust outlets i.e. new slk 350

18" new style amg rims i.e. new slk 350 w/ sport package

And then there's the face lift for 06...just when my lease is up
