Question Brake question

Hey guys,

I have a 2009 CLK550. I am changing the rotors, pads, and brake lines and also repainting the calipers. I can't find the torque specifications for the two bolts in the back of the caliper, and the bolt in the front of the rotor. My car is currently disassembled in the garage and I don't want to tighten the bolts down without the proper torque specs. Does anyone know what the torque specs are?

The security bolt on the rotor is 10Nm. The bolts holding the caliper to the wheel hub are 115Nm.

Do yourself a favor and coat the front of the rotor hats with a LIGHT coat of anti-seize (where the wheel bolts go in), it will prevent the wheels from sticking on.

^ +1. You can also use the anti-squeal paste you put on the back for the brake pads - it's just a high-temp grease.

I did that, thanks! By the way, is the correct wheel bolt torque 80 ft-lbs or 96 ft-lbs? The owners manual says 80, but it seems that may be for the spare. The tire shop insists that it is 96.

I went with the Frozen Street Sport Cryo rotors, painted the calipers red, and went with the Brembo decals, everything else is OEM. I just thought I would share some before and after pics.

You did a very nice job on the calipers.
