Switched circuit for LED DRLs

I bought a set of LED DRL to install in my 2009 CLK 350. Can anyone recommend a place to hook the lights to. I would like to connect them to a switched circuit that will turn them on when the ignition is switched on and to stay on no matter what position the light switch is in. The lights will be mounted far enough away from the turn signals to be legally on all the time.

You should hook them up to the oem drl . its the small bulb in the high beam housing . this way they turn on and off with the auto headlight .

On mine, the 2009, that's not a DRL, but a parking light.

If I have the lights set to automatic using the steering wheel commands, I have no DRLs, but the headlight auto mode works fine, and when it gets dark I can switch between low and high beams with the light switch in the auto mode.

If I have the lights set to always on, using the steering wheel commands, the low beams work as DRL's, but if I want to be able to use the high beams, I have to switch the light switch from Auto to On, a real pain in the neck.

What I want is to be able to leave the light switch in Auto mode and have my LEDs work as DRLs. That's why I want to wire them to a circuit that's switched on when the ignition is on.

Above my pay grade. Scroll down to post 8 in the link below. Fuse 43-65 are in the engine room. I'd look at 47, since the wipers should only work when the key is in the accessory or on position. Use a fuse doubler, put the 40 back in for the wipers and use a lower amp one for the DRL's.

the best way to do it is to order a drl harness or hid hardness like the one in the link. you will run a red and black to the battery . Then another red to the fuse like mentioned above and the black to you can mount to the chassis . I would use this just in case you have an issue you will fry the harness and not your fuse box . its cheap insurance
