clk320 window problem

my front driver side window takes about 15-20 try before it will roll up,took the motor out, it rolls down no problem but going up it would spin 2 seconds and shuts off, could it be a bad module?

When it stops, does it go back down a bit? If so, there could be some obstruction that is triggering the safety mechanism.

hi Shadenfroh, what and where is the safety
mech. & where is it located? after about 15-20 attempts with the switch it would go back up and would start being normal again up/down with no problem but would act up later on again. It is not the switch or motor because I replaced them. thanks

It's not a physical mechanism, rather - a function. When the window encounters enough resistance when going up, it stops and goes back down a bit.

If it does this, then there's something preventing the window from going up easily.

Have you lubricated the window rail tracks? Have you lubricated the motor? Have you installed the door card correctly?

it is a 03 clk320, today it stopped going up had to jump the motor to get it up. what I noticed when testing the connector to the motor is that I was getting 12v to the up & down feed but only for about 1 second and will cut off, is there a relay that sends power to the motor?

Try pulling the fuse for the door controller for a few minutes to reset it and see if that helps. #20 is for the left door, #21 for the right.

Thanks Rudeney, will try that when I have the time, did checked the fuses with the meter and all seems ok, had to jump the motor in order to get it back up, what I did notice was that on the actuator a cable wire ( one with the rubber sheating ) is twisted but not much.

Rodney, I had disconnected the battery prior to working on the car, is it the same as removing the fuses? I also clean the connectors/connections with a contact cleaner.

Yes, removing the battery will be the same as removing the fuses in terms of resetting the door controllers.

No, they are specific. The passenger side does not have inputs for all four window switches, and it's power seat control sends CAN bus signals coded for the passenger seat.

I am having the same issue. I replaced the regulator but the window kept popping out of the front window track. Looking down into the passenger side window, I found that there is a rubber guide inside of the track. No Wonder the window hits resistance! I am looking all over the internet and cannot find the rubber window track insert for my CLK320 A208. Does anyone know of a website where I can find this part?
Thanks in Advance
