Allen wrench for CLK headrest release

my roll bar engaged last week. I do not have the wrench that should be in the trunk. Any idea what size and how long it is?
Thanks. Ed

Any metal object that is long enough and sturdy enough can be used. Its a plate that you end up pressing on. The trick is finding it. You know you have it when you can feel a give when you press down on it. When you have found that press down on the plate and on the head rest simultaneously. You will need to do it on both sides.

My guess is that you need something that is about 8" long, A long screw driver will work fine.

I took my 2008 CLK350 to the dealer this week. The roll bar was engaged so I wanted to see if they thought it was a fluke or something actually wrong. They diagnosed a bad control module for the soft top. I bought this car in November and purchased a 4 year extended warranty, as the car only had 16,000 miles on it. They called the insurer and they showed up today and ok'd the replacement of the module.Should be done in a couple of days.
While I was there, I ordered the Allen wrench for $7.95. I understand that this may be a continual problem so it's good to have the tool going forward.
