Exclamation New CLK Test

Apparently the new CLK will have been officially road tested by the German Magazine Automotor und Sport (sorry if it's misspelled) in the next issue according to a Greman friend of mine. I've asked him for a full translation.

Like or not the CLK

With the new E Class coming out the CLK may end up as the lost orphan. It's not much bigger or better than the C Class on which it is unfortunately based (though the 500 engine will help and copying the front of the SL500 may prove its saving grace) The only thing really going for it over other Mercedes models is the absence of a B Pillar. I for one would just as soon Mercedes ramp up production of the CLK Cabriolet and focus on coming out with a coupe based on the new E Class instead of wasting effort on the CLK coupe with its E Class pretentions and C Class underpinnings.

I said this before and I will say it again, everyone needs to keep their opinions about the new CLK until you have seen it in person....I know the pictures that have been released don't look to impressive but you know what, when I looked at the new SL class pictures it didn't look so impressive either. However when I saw it on the road I COULDN'T KEEP MY EYES OFF OF IT...so lets wait to see what the new CLK looks like before talking smack.....

what??? no way bro... when i first saw SL500 pix, it was game over... looked soooo phat. front rear and side... all looked aggressive as hell.

NOT the same as when i first saw the clk55 pix... only from the front does it look good. the rear and side profile is, well... i guess we'll wait and see...

when i first saw pix of the new 7 series... i didn't like it, and when i saw it in person, i still didn't and don't like it. it's sales are lagging big time, especially in the euro market.

i really wanted to get the new clk, but the new E is looking really good. i haven't seen either in person, but even from just the pix, the new E looks a lot better than the clk.
