CLK 270CDi Engine oil level dipstick

Good morning everyone!

I know most of you have petrol mercedes engines but I'm looking for help with my diesel CLK:

Two days ago, I bought a dipstick to check engine oil level: the stick is this one http://www.ebay.it/itm/MERCEDES-W202...53.m2749.l2649

Now, the stick is marked with some numbers ( I think in mm) but I don't know how it works: I inserted the stick in it's own hole ( it won't fit entirely) and the oil reading stops at 120mm.
Can someone tell me wich is the correct mesure in order to tell if my car (I don't trust completely the oil level sensor) has or not the right oil quantity?
Many thanks and sorry if i made some grammar errors.

It depends on your engine. For the 612.962 engine with a serial number prior to 134164 or after 150688, then it's between 116mm and 139mm. If your engine serial number is 134165 through 150688, then it's 100mm to 125mm. Post your VIN if you don;t know your engine serial number and I can look it up for you.

I was hoping with the VIN that WIS would give me the proper details for the 612.967, but it just lists the dipstick measurements for the 612.962. But checking some cars in EPC, it appears that the serial numbers run sequentially regardless of engine variation, i.e. all 612's have a singe range of serial numbers. Yours is 612.967 30 239710, so "239710" is greater than "150688", then I'd say it's the 116mm-139mm range.

116 minimum, 139 maximum right?
If so, thanks again for the great help.

That's what I think, based on what I can interpret from WIS.
