Clk Changes

Was reading on a german website that the CLK will be getting a serious change with the c class upgrade, supposedly a new 7 speed gearbox dvd nav etc. the pic os of a vehicle without command, so as with the e class you get the small screen.

its seems to be the case but you'll be looking at around early '05 or even the end of '05 for the upgrades... nothing much has changed externally, only the interior, stereo is the same as the E-class/new SLK, where as the aircon is similar to the E-class which the new C-class will be based on and the IC should remain the same.

...its a shame that is the case because I would prefer it to have the upgrade at the end of life rather then mid life... must be a mid life crisis thing hope the car doesn't depriciate now

here's a better pic of what the new CLK interior will look like... its the new DTM CLK:

The facelift is just a minor interior update for the center console as you can see from the pic, new DVD base Navi, New climate control, and new function Key. The Optical central control system has also replaced by a newer system, to control the DVD navi and climate control.

I take it these upgrades will coincide with the introduction of the 3.5L engine from the CLS and SLK?
The new interior looks quite nice, improving an already good interior. However, it looks like they missed the one glaring fault in the CLK interior: no in-dash CD changer. The dash unit looks similar to the one in the E-Class, which has a single disc player, and an optional separate changer unit below. There's no space for that changer in the new CLK interior, which is dissappointing. It's possible that it's a whole new unit that has an integrated CD changer, but I doubt it.
I would like to see that suede/Alcantara interior from the DTM in the regular CLK, though.

i ordered my CLK500 here in Canada due to arrive in July/Aug 2005 - the dealer confirmed to me that the only change will be that there is now one in-dash CD-changer....he put it in writing...

he did not confirm however what some on this board has said regarding 18inch wheels, 7 gear tranny, different steering wheel and possibly dual exhaust...

Our 05 CLK500 Elegance Cabriolet ordered yesterday for November production will have the 7G-Tronic.
We have not gone with the COMMAND APS so the sound system goes from a Mercedes Benz Audio 30 unit to a Audio 20 unit with 6 disc CD changer in the trunk for the 05 model year
There will evidently be minor interior changes from the 04 car.
Our car is for delivery in New Zealand Jan 3rd 05 as registration year is what matters here.

Guys,

Read the post by caneman in the "05's on the water" thread...all the changes are there direct from MB and they include new restyled AMG rims for the 500, the 7 G, in dash CD, DVD command, a new upper cluster, the trunk spoiler from the 55, Harmon Kardon and burl wood for the 320 all standard plus a few other deletions and colors etc.. My 04 feels neglected
