W209 Ornament I'm Dying Here
My much loved 2000 silver w208 passed on in the Houston flood recently. A friend in West Palm little old sweet lady whose son is a captain for FD#$EX 777 flew her Orion Blue 2005 W209 CAB in to me while the airport was still officially closed. I read another post on here where a guy said he bought a 70,000 three pointed gunsight with a car thrown in for free. I rescued the CD Changer and hood ornament sadly missing from the w209. If ANYBODY can give me a clue how to ceremoniously transfer the emblem of my first baby to my new one. (Love it but I wanted to drive 100,000 miles don't drive much and get my badge...98,600 at flood. Tempted to drag the old girl to Laguna where I bought her exactly 1,400 miles from here and open the door let the water out and request my badge. I'm disabled with PTSD my mom is in hospice with stage IV lung cancer and I need this BAD....HELP If it has to be welded I'll find somebody. Wild guess my greatest mixes as an ex DJ are in the CD player from the 208 and won't be compatible with the 209 as it is BOSE to Harman Kardon. Got me twice. TAP TAP is this mike working??? BTW I'll donate organs but Beulah Benz (her name) will not sugar in the tank and transmission, smashed every mirror and cracked the glass slashed trhe seats blew the airbag with a sledge to the bumper (that was ssso gooood I well can't say here)

MBWorld Fanatic!
That's a lot of words just to ask how to put a hood ornament on a W209. Personally, I think they look wrong on a 209, but that's subjective. You are not the first person to ask this question, so you might try some searches of this forum. I don't recall the details, but it does not require welding, but probably does requires drilling.

My Wife's W209 ('05 320CLK) hood emblem was looking sad.
I bought an OEM one (I forget where) A 906 817 04 16 5337.
The local MB auto body shop said "Yeah, just pop it off, it's glued on. Careful not to scratch the paint"
wrong!
it is plastic & had two plastic pins on the back side. I was able to pop it out with some cheap Harbor Freight plastic body panel tools.
But the replacement is a glue-back. But it stuck on fine just the same. Next time at an MB dealer, I'll ask what the $ is for the correct badge.
But for those folks just looking to put one on, this'll do it without drilling.
