Greetings, When taking the air filter housing off, I noticed that the metal clip that holds down the housing on the MAF is not there.
Ive looked everywhere for it..
Anybody got the part # and best place to look for it?

I think the part number is A2721420012. This is a $5 part. I suggest just going to your local MBZ dealer.

Now..how do I attache the base

There are holes in the bracket of the MAF sensor retainer. You won't be able to see them - they are below the MAF sensor bracket shoulders. Put the air filter cover in place, and then do a trial-fir of the retainer on it and you should be able to find the orientation for it.
