Transmission fluid amount

Hello everyone . I did a transmission pan drop and changed the electrical plug. I added 4 qt of transmission oil and i still show a low reading on the dip stick . I am going by other posts that say from 3.5 to 4 . Is that amount correct ?

When I did, 4.4 L came out so I added 4.5 L back to account for drips and evaporation over time and measured and it was correct.

it's 30 degrees here so no way to get it to 80c . I tested it at cold and I barley got a reading on the dip stick . I warmed up the car a bit and drove it but it's jersey when changing gears . I just checked with mercedes dealer and they said usually around 4 but 4 clearly isn't enough . Since I had a leak due to the connector plug do you think I maybe lost more fluids than 4 qt ? It was pretty wet on the bottom of the car . The picture is of the plastic covering the transmissions . There was oil also om the exhaust

You must set the level according to the temperature marks on the dipstick - not based on what came out. Even in 30F degree ambient temps, the engine and transmission should still get up to operating temps of around 80C. Use an infrared thermometer on the transmission pan to check its temp.

I am not going by what came out . I checked the forums and everyone is saying between 3 to 4 qts . I got my new carsoft MBII this week so i used it to see what the temperature of the transmission was .First I added 2 qts qt ( 6 now ) and I got it up to 80C and checked it at 80C . I am about 3 quarters of the way up defiantly much better than before . But i have to get another qt to get the level . Can it be that from a plug leak i lost about 3 qts ?

If it's been leaking a while, then yes, you can lose a good bit.
