I will offer my limited knowledge having owned a 07 CLK550 Cabrio with 73K. I believe some of the 07 maybe subject to potential balance shaft issues with the engine. This can be determined according to the VIN. I believe if you post the VIN on this site and ask for possible balance shaft issues the are members of the forum that know how to check it for you. The camshaft position sensors (4) are common failure items but are inexpensive and easy DIY. The other somewhat serious consideration is the transmission. I had a failure of the conductor plate in the transmission, a fairly common problem. This repair can cost around $1500, and must be performed my a MB dealership due to the need for programming. You should try to find out if the transmission fluid has been changed. The recommended initial change is 40K. My understanding is these cars can go for many miles with faithful maintenance.

Beyond the balance shaft issue, the general answer to your question is no, there are no real issues. Unless, of course, you are looking at a coupe and not a convertible. The coupes suffer from a fatal design defect - they have metal roof. I can't believe Mercedes did that.

Just do it. You won't regret. I just picked up one and I can't believe how much power it has. The grip on the ice is amazing.. Mine has Goodyear Eagle sport and they hold the road on glare ice at 150 km/hr.
