B&B Performance Chip Module

I was looking at a B&B Performance Chip Module for my 2008 CLK350. It's a 2-wire module that splices into the car's 2-wire IAT (Air Intake Module) however, if your car combines the IAT and MAF (Mass Air Flow) like Mercedes does with the CLK, then you splice the module into the Coolant Temperature sensor instead. I'll admit, my knowledge of cars only goes so far so I'll throw this out there... How does this Performance chip Module increase a car's horsepower by monitoring the Coolant Temperature sensor?

Here's the link in case you're interested: http://www.globalautoshop.com/perfor...ing_module.htm

I don't like "performance chips" that you have to splice into the wiring to lie to the car. It's one thing to tune the car or have it flashed.. it's another thing to give the car incorrect info and hope it will adjust.

there are better things to do in life than trying to figure out how a "performance chip" that doesn't do anything works. Get an actual tune if you want some actual changes.

I would not buy anything that (1) does not give any indication of how it supposedly works, (2) provides no verification of of its claims and qualifies everything with "up to" so that nothing at all is actually promised, and (3) uses poor grammar like "Tough Made." Then there is common sense. If you could actually increase hp by 11% for $129, don't you think everybody on here would have one installed?

Dang!!! I spent a few thousand $ for the 13% I got. That last, additional 2% must have been the killer....

Sorry about that last reply. Uncharacteristic of me.
This is probably the best place for the OP to have asked the question.

My only question is...if you want to install...say 3 of these chips...do you install them in serial or parallel? Or do you like stack them up on top of each other...

If you use a Vornado, you wire them in series. If not, then parallel. (OK, yes, that was total sarcasm - it's Fatz's fault! )

You have to be careful though. I placed one on top of the the other, and when I opened the hood a month later there were 6 little ones.

With six of them, your engine must have actually been producing fuel instead of using it. I guess you had to drain the tank every few days. I hate when that happens!
