That's disappointing. It's about time that MB releases the 350 engine for the CLK.

Is the 350 so much better than the 320?
I have the CLK320 and I found the power to be adequate. I can see you will need the 350 in the SUV, which is 1,500 lbs heavier. At least, the 320 is proven and reliable. With the current gas prices , I would stick to the 320.
Now, if someones want more power, he(she) can always get the CLK500.

MB is setting new directions with her engine designs and the 350 has it. Furthermore, with the 350 engine, one can get a jump in performance without resorting to getting the V8 (pay the price at the pump as well as guzzler tax)
At this time, I have not found a dealer in Southern California willing to budge on the price with the cab and since I have to pay full price, I rather pay for one that has the latest feature.

2003 CLK 320
Gear head you will always be waiting there is always going to be new features and I agree with
mis 3 about the engine size if speed is what you are looking for go for the 500. I am very happy with my 2003 clk 320. Get your self a CLK 320 or 500 Mercedes and Enjoy.

no 350...
there is definitly not going to be a 350 in 2005 models, possibly never because the gap to the 240 is to large... hey and Guys dont get me wrong, whatever is on the water on the way to the U.S. seem to be timetravellers...
the Model Year 2005 doesn't start in the Factory until earliest July 2004, and the new Interieur is coming in Germany from June/July on....

stefan has no clue
stefan seems like you do not have a clue as to what goes on with benz, because if you did you would know that the 05 e320 cdi is already on the ground and as far as the 05 clk cabriolet that car is due to be released the first week in june. so as far as time traveling goes, seems like you must do alot of it. by the way where did you get that information from, because i think your mind is playing tricks on you again

Stefan, I see you are in Germany. It is possible that model year designations vary by country. I have seen the 2005 CDI here in the US but who knows in Germany they may still designate it as a 2004? This is a new model for us, we never had a 2004 diesel E. Just curious, how old are you if you don't mind my asking.

The Clue I have...
... is that you obviously don't know much about the German lineup, because if so, then you'd know that none of these Models are new to Germany and they don't mark the start of a new model year... but obviously the reasoning behing MY's ist different between Germany and U.S., because MY's are a minor argument for buying cars in Germany, also new Models are introduced troughout the year in Germany and finally the new MY starts somewhere in late Summer after a factory vacation period. so long...

Tntmcj:
There are updates beyond 2/03 that go through 4/03 for other models.

"the strange thing is that nobody seems to have '05 pricing yet"
The price of my car is locked in at the 04 pricing, NZ $ 162150 on the road.
This converts to US$97290 at todays rate.
You guys in the USA dont know what a bargain you are getting.
Dont know if the Beck Imports information also applies to cars shipped to NZ, we have a higher spec car as the base here.
The AMG rear spoiler and new AMG 17" wheels would be nice to differenciate the car from the CLK320.
Would not use the steering wheel gearshift.
Have been advised that the interior is updated on my car so maybe it will get the rest as well.

CANEMAN
Can you get a newer PDF for the W211(new e class) as the one you were kind enough to include was from 12 of 2003 and does not list the 04 to 05 changes like some of the others. I told the guys on the 211 forum I would ask.
Thanks!

I went to their site and could not find the area where you got this info, do you remember where it is? As I'm trying to see if they updated some of the info on the pdfs.
Thanks,
