Is the transmission fluid mixed with antifreeze?

Hello, everyone!
Been a Mercedes owner for 11 months and I'm lovin it!

However I am concerned. I have read that cars equipped with the Valeo radiator may leak and ATF could get mixed with antifreeze.
It just so happens that the transmission for my car has been kinda weird the past few months, so I decided to investigate the matter.

The car has red antifreeze, so It's difficult for me to distinguish if everything is ok or something is wrong.
Take a look at the pic
Is it just me or isn't antifreeze supposed to be more clear and vibrant?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I have a 2008 CLK 550 and the anti-freeze in it is green. Now sure about what's in your car, but if they are mixing you are having a bad day and I wouldn't put another mile on it until you get it figured out. But as I read, MB anti-freeze is red so I wouldn't worry to much. If you are mixing the two it would probably be foamy. But, I'm just guessing here based on oil and AF mixing from blown head gaskets that I have seen.

It's hard to tell from the photo as colors can vary, but that does look like transmission fluid int he coolant. Yes, event he red or orange colored coolant should look more clear, but again, it's hard to tell from photos. My advice is if you do have the Valeo radiator, to go ahead and replace it. I think they all pretty much fail. And if you do have coolant in the transmission fluid, I'd do a filter change and a full flush on it.

Thanks!

I will now probably take it to a Mercedes specialist and let him take a look. Although I have never had the foamy stuff that I find on Google when I search antifreeze with ATF.
