AMG Wheel swap ?

Howdy all!

I have a fellow MBZ owner friend willing to give me an older set of 18” AMG wheels from one of his past SL’s, however after reading through the ‘Will It Fit’ sticky I’m not sure if they will in fact fit. I hate to pass up on such an offer though, as ‘free’ ones rarely come around. Can you help without the ET data, perhaps since they appear to be a common AMG model (see above pic)? His tire sizes are 245/40R18 and 275/35R18, whereas mine are currently 225/45/17 and 245/40/17. I found most on sticky post had 235’s and 265’s...any info appreciated!

I will attempt to secure the ET of his spares if I can get them in front of me soon...

I am looking for a set of these wheels -

At least the rears -

They will fit - the rear size is 18x9.5 - ET 33 -

The front size is 18x8.5 - ET 38 (?) -

The ET's are very close to the W209 CLK500

OEM stock -

I am guessing that you will need a different

size wheel nut -

These wheels are rare but even so nobody

wants them -

Please keep this thread updated -

Thank-You
D.B.

Thanks D.B.! To be clear, you know these wheels in my pic above will fit our W209’s? Also, do you mean fit with or without spacers? My friend is local so it won’t cost me per se to put them on and see how it goes...but I’d rather be best prepared should it be known that a specific spacer size is typically required, etc...

Regardless, thanks much for the feedback and I will advise as any action taken...

Anyone else have magical powers and willing to look at the pic above and share likely ET’s along with fitment likelihood on my CLK500 cabrio? I’m thinking about ordering a set of 10mm rear spacers and giving them a shot, possibly getting 265’s on the rear in place of the 275’s...

Hi Insame...I have searched a bit, though mostly within this forum as I do not feel I know sufficient details regarding the wheels in questions to find the answer out there on the interwebs.

I’m relying on you kind and knowledgeable folks to perhaps help me hone my own search and/or share some past experience-based info...throw me a bone?

The wheels will fit without spacers -

I did a test fit -

But will look better with spacers -

These wheels on a 2003 SL500/SL55

are 18x9.5 for the rear - ET 33 -

OEM part number A2304012 102 -

Bolt pattern - 5x112 -

Thank-You
D.B.

So if this was me I would guess that the car in the picture is an R129. I googled that and the cars in the pictures looked the same, so I then googled R129 wheel offset and found this? http://www.benzworld.org/forums/r129...sizes-ets.html

Then I would google the offset of my car if I didn't already know and compare the 2.

Jaybird123 -

If you do get these wheels (for free - WOW) -

and you decide not to use them I would

be interested in purchasing the rears if

the price / shipping is right -

Thank-You

If the owner is friend and has those wheels sitting around, ask him if the ET is stamped on the back of one of the spokes. It often is.
