Seat discoloration at 39k miles!?!



2009 CLK with under 40k miles. Purchase this car last year have not driven it much but for some reason the driver side seat Appears to be discolored? Any ideas? How to prevent it from getting worse.

I have only used Lexol to clean the seats but it seems like it does no good. Non smoker car, no eating or drinking. It seems like it just keep discoloring more and more

That looks like the top layer is wearing off. The seats may have been re-sprayed at some point to make them look nice for sale.

Not much you can do about it at this point, nothing will put back the layer that's rubbed off.

There are companies that make good leather dye. I know we've discussed this before and I remember several members recommended a particular brand, but I don't remember the name . Search the forum. Actually, search all MBWorld forums as this is an issue that would affect any model.

I would consider Leatherique for that issue.

Agree it is the top layer wearing off. I have a few spots like that on my rear seats in my cabriolet.
