Max Tyre Size for 18in on CLK

Hi All..

What is the maximum tyre that can fit on w209 with 18in 8.5F and 10R

will 245 or 255 fit at front? rub?

285 or 295 at rear? rub?

Will they rub the fender once its installed.

what the MAX size we can use or anyone used? without rubbing

Cheers

i would go 235 in front max and 265 in the back max.. any larger and yes you will rub and probably not just on the fenders you might rub inside the fenderwell somewhere.

Thanks Tezta..

I have 255 at rear, but the wheel edge is not protected as the 255 is the lowest width on 10in wheel, and i would like to have wider tyre on 10in wheel to protect the wheel.

what size is your spacer in the front or rear? you got 18in correct?

cheers

ive got 225's all around on 8's ive got pretty good protection. Id say since its a 10 in the back, get 265's it should be fine.

ok thanks..

because i have a 10mm spacer on the 10in wheel, i have not install the wheel on yet, but i believe i should not need this 10mm spacer at all rit? or it doesn't matter and look better?

i think its now 15et in the back..not 45.

i want to find the factory sport suspension.. if i install eibach or H&R im sure my warranty will be void. so if i stick with MB parts maybe it'll be okay.

Thanks Frisco and atl2nyc,

so 235 and 265 should have enough tyre protection against the wheel corners correct?

are they the MAX size without rubbing?

What offset are you running on the rear wheel? I'd like to fit tens on the back if possible. Did you have to use a spacer? and also what wheels you running?

I am not quite sure what you mean by his question -- could you please clarify.

are they the MAX size without rubbing?
Not really sure, but I think so. I know in the back - the clearance on the inside of the wheel well is very tight. But keep in mind, my car is lowered. You should check w/ Harris or Luke from Tirerack if you want a definitive answer.

What offset are you running on the rear wheel? I'd like to fit tens on the back if possible. Did you have to use a spacer? and also what wheels you running?
I think the offset is +28 in the front and +29 in the back. No spacers -- or at least I don't think I have spacers. The wheels are 18x8.5 in the front and 18x10 in the back.

the corners around the wheel, as the extra tyre width can have protection again the wheel itself. right now because my tire is the lowest width for the wheel width so there is not much protection again the corners around the wheel at all. thats my concern.

so my question was will 235 and 265 have enough protection again 8.5 and 10in wheel.

cheers

i have 19x10s in the rear and i needed spacers provided by Brabus.. 265/30/19 tires.

i believe atl2nyc is talking about the rim protector.
