Windshield wiper water pump

2008 CLK 550 Windshield wiper water pump stopped working.Wipers are working fine. Are they hooked to the same circuit? Any fuses I need to check? Any suggestions on how to debug the problem? How do you get access to the pump, do the bottom shields need to be removed to get access?
Any suggestions much appreciated.
Thanks.

Own 2005 CLK500, but drive 2011 Sienna :)
You can remove the front left wheel arch bottom cover and you'll see the pump right away. You can measure the voltage on the contacts when you are turning the washer fluid pump on to see if the voltage is coming to the pump using the basic tester. Obviously easier to perform if someone is helping
