2007 CLK550 removing the shell from hood
Can someone please explain to me how to remove the "shell" from the hood where the sprayer nozzles are located as I need to clean them. When the hood is opened, I can see 3 hex screw to unscrew. After removing them i'm not sure how to pull the "shell" so I don't to break it. Any help would be really appreciated. The online videos i've seen so far are for the w208. can't find any 2007 w209 CLK related video.
Thanks for your help!

When you look into the shell you should see around the clip releases what you need to gently press with a flat screwdriver to be able to lift the hood grill with the washers. The problem is - most likely you will break the most of them since the plastic is very brittle. Nothing can be done to avoid it unfortunately.

Top of the hood. Around perimeter of the grille. Probably 8-10 in total, don’t remember exactly. Don’t punish yourself if you’ll manage to break them

Thanks for the prompt reply. I did manage to break one and that’s why I discontinued the process last time as I wasn’t sure. Your replies have given me more confidence to attack the job and remove the shell. Thanks again for the valuable Info.
