If you have the new system with a single disc, then no. But know that 2015 was the last disc and there will be no more. But doesn't an '03 use a set of CDs as opposed to a single DVD? If so, those have not been made in a while.

Not sure about that. I just bought the car, and it came with a single disk. I found the system was out of date (it didn't know about areas that have been in place for some years), so I thought it would be an easy enough exercise to buy a new disk. I have found an upgraded complete system to replace my command centre, not manufactured by MB, but looks good - it has blut=etooth, touch screen, upgraded nav system, etc. Comes in a little more expensive than buying a new disk on its own! Any thoughts about whether it is a good idea to buy one?

NO LONGER ACTIVE
The NTG1 COMAND (pre-MY2005) used CDs not DVDs and multiple discs were required to cover the entire US (or Europe). NTG2 came out with MY2005 and used an in-dash DVD drive and only needed one disc for all of the USA.

I then replacement with an aftermarket unit is the best bet for NT1 ore-facelift cars.
