Is this a good deal? CLK500
hey CLK people ... we have a c250 (W204) and are looking for another good Benz.
Saw this CLK500 - awesome red - but I do not know if these are prone to any problems.
RED CLK500 - good deal?
I talked him to 7k before deciding to think about it
What is everyone’s opinion?
Love the engine sound over our 1.8t coupe.

Wow, that car is absolutely immaculate, as though it just rolled off the assembly line. CLK years 2003 and 2004 are comparatively trouble-free vintage for the CLK500, and this specimen, with just 89K miles on it, has evidently been very well maintained. Anyone unfamiliar with the model could be excused for regarding this car you have found, as being close to brand new, going by its pristine appearance.
That said, I have spotted 2003 and 2004 CLKs advertised in the region of $5K online. If the seller is convinced you are a serious buyer, you may yet be able to haggle the price on this beauty down to the $5K to $6K range, by highlighting whatever minor flaws that you are able to uncover during a test drive, or close examination under the hood.

I agree - a really nice looking car! And well optioned with KeylessGo, Parktronic and bi-xenons. Carfax shows some possible front-end damage in 2004, but the original owner kept it for another 2 years so that would not bother me. The M113 engine and 722,6 transmission are made for the long run. The price is high. Plug it into KBB and the trade-in value is around $2,500, retail is around $5,500.

i got some further info as it was bought and serviced all those years at my home dealership. I have someone who gives me insider info.
One owner couple. Now in their 70's. Traded it in October. They got $1000-1500 ACV and then it was auctioned. Evidently it needed some work and tires.
fast forward to now. The dealer that has it now probably got it for $2kish.. they put some CHEAP tires o n it. LionHart chinese tire crap. They also fixed a sticking accelerator pedal for $300... but i cannot verify what else was needed OR if anything else was fixed.
I told them today I still thought 7k was too high, but they say they are at the lowest they can go. I say NO WAY did they drop it $900 in the first 10 min and that's all the have. I would buy the car immediately for $5k, maybe up to $6k but 7 is too high for me.

I didn't see hardly any options missing - it has Bi-Xenon headlights, PeylessGo, Parktronic, and COMAND NAV. About the only thing missing would be Distronic cruise control.

They are hot and cold I guess. No pun intended The ones in my E Class work good. In my CLK they are ok and in my CL they are like you say next to useless. Odd.

Ventilated seats in the SL are worthless. If it's low humidity and 70F out, I can feel them doing their thing, but I don't need them then. I need them when it's 95F and 100% humidity, and they do no good at all.
