Extreme Cold effects
I recently went out to start my 2006 CLK and when i turned my Smartkey to position 2 i heard a louder fan noise in the passenger side dashboard (Not normal)
I took out the key and tried to start again and the noise went away. Any ideas what would cause this noise ? It is 10 degrees here today.:

When it's as cold as it has the past few days, it could be anything...maybe ice?

My 2009 did that today. It is -29' and windy here in Saratoga, NY. Even with the car in a warm garage the fan in the dash is so cold it makes a noise due to ice build up and also because the fan is so cold it makes a noise until the bearings are warmed up.

I didn't have that one, but the last couple of days, when the temps were around -24F, it sounded like all of my rubber suspension bushings had turned to wood!

Thats just the way it is. Extreme cold like this is not normal by any means. No matter what you are driving it will not be 100% normal when it is -40' with the windchill lol.
