Suggestions for upgrading sway bars/shocks struts
My clk350 rides like a floaty boat. My former car, the c230 Kompressor 2 door coupe, was treated to new sways in the front and back and rides like brand new car... as you guys may know, the CLK is the same turning ratios and dimensions as the 2 dr Coupe... lots of interchangeable parts.
Can I get away with 12mm thicker and upgraded H and R sway bars and Eibach struts in the front alone, and do the back end when I can afford it?
Do you guys know the part numbers for the 12mm H and R sways and struts?
And do you recommend my approach?
Thanks

2007 CLK550 & 2001 911 Carrera
I'm also looking to update my suspension. Good luck finding new H&R sway bars. Every place I ordered from said they were backordered with no ETA. Maybe you can find some used ones? I eventually went with CLK63 (made by Eibach) sways for my 550 and am also replacing all of the links.
I never heard of Eibach struts. I went with Bilstein struts and sachs rear shocks. I didn't want a rougher ride, I just wanted tighter cornering. Once I upgrade these parts, I'm going to replace the lower and upper control arms to tighten up the suspension a little further.

I replaced my rear shocks on 09' CLK550 @ 60,000 mi with Bilstein B8 W0133-1910455
I cant tell any difference from OEM.

That was ~5 months, they're still doing fine.

I did H&R springs (1.3 drop) on the front with new Bils on all 4 corners -
I had the thickest f/r swaybars from H&R installed
As for driving improvement I added this bar -
https://www.ebay.com/itm/MERCEDES-BE...UAAOSwt7pXL~-V
It made the biggest difference in handling -
The Mercedes tech who installed it was very impressed
with the dynamics of this bar -
The biggest thing this bar did
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mercedes-Be...sAAOSwzPFZ3cxL
was to tighten up the rear end and reduce body flex when
turning up into a curved driveway -
Thank-You
