Lowering

Hi Folks,

After I installed my 19" HRE's, I feel the car sits a bit too high, expecially in the front. I would like to lower it, but would first like to get your expertise on how you all lowered yours:

- What parts did you replace and what brand did you choose?
- Is it prudent to just replace the springs?
- What lowering level would you reccomend for 235/35/19 (f) and 265/30/19 (r) tires. I dont want it to look ghetto.
- is this something that you can do yourself? If not, what does the labor cost if you provide the parts?

well, currently i have 19's rims too. Car is sitting on H&R sport springs, with stock shocks. At first the dropp is perfect. But for me, I tend to like my tires tuck with little of no space. With my H&R, the rear tire is tuck, which i think is perfect, but the front has about two finger gap. I kinda want to get rid of the gap, but since the front does not have spring pad, there is nothing I can do about it unless I cut the spring. So....in other words, knowing the set height, if you want the drop to your spec, I recommed Coilovers. Hope this helps.

I have 19's on my car too, (but i wish i went with 20's in the rear!) and I lowered it with Brabus sport springs with factory suspension. I think it looked great at first, but after awhile, you get use to the drop and wish it was a bit lower. But I must say I am very happy with the car lowered. I don't get as much roll when changing lanes or making round turns as with factory springs. I bet if I went with the whole supension kit, the car would be a bit lower and much tighter on the turns! All and all, you definately must lower your car.
