Starter Motor Blowing

Hi, I'm having some trouble with my starter motor. The 20A starter fuse blew a few weeks ago, and I was able to just replace the fuse and she'd start right up. However yesterday I was stranded and had to put a 25A in to start and get the car home. I obviously want to put the 20A back in asap.

On restarting, the car still refused to start. I could hear some sort of relay click over on trying to crank, but the fuse didn't blow... No issues starting it when it's cold, but as soon as there's any heat in the engine it fails to start. This happened on three occasions yesterday, however the car would only start once the bonnet was raised and allowed some heat to dissipate..

Has anyone any ideas on what might be causing the failed starts? A bad earth? Why does it only occur when the car is hot, parked up, and then soon restarted?
Any pointers much appreciated,
Ben

Check the battery voltage should be 12.5 - 12.7 Volts
High heat is also a killer for batteries that are older or near replacement time
Similar results can be seen during cold spells
It also could be a connection issue, loose fastener

Yep, battery voltage is all good- 12.5/14.5V charging.. Changed the battery a few months ago for a new Bosch one.

Will take the electrical leads off and on again and see how that goes...

The starter fuse goes to the starter solenoid. The solenoid has a coil that can short. I suspect your coil is partially shorted and that a new solenoid will fix your problem.
