Hi all sooooo we have a big problem, we have a clk 200 avantgard, 51 plate, automatic, last week had a tyre blow out, called rac, they came changed tyre and then suddenly the engine won’t start or central locking work????? Rac have washed their hands of us saying we just have to complain to customer care, which we have, but this doesn’t help us getting this bag of problems going 🤦🏻♀️ We know very little about cars in general and don’t really have the money atm to call out a mechanic for an unknown problem. The engine tries to start but it sounds as if it is starved of fuel? Yes there is fuel in it, battery absolutely spot on, rac guy did put his computer on vehicle and said absolutely no faults showing with engine??? With the central locking going it is currently unlocked, on a nearby main road, but the boot is locked shut, and to make matters worse we have very important documents in the boot that we need out ASAP, the master key won’t turn in the boot lock to open, cannot find anyway to get in, can anybody please help us with any part of this big bloody dilemma we have??? We’ve even tried screwdriving the boot look to get it open, nope, last resort would be back seats, parcel shelf somehow, but cannot even see a way to get in the boot that way? Any or all help would be massively appreciated and probably save our sanity!

So the key blade does not turn at all when inserted into the lock? Try some lubricant on the lock - maybe it's just dirty or "frozen" from lack of use. If the key does turn, make sure you know how to open the trunk manually (see below).
If none of that works, AS A LAST RESORT AND AT YOUR OWN RISK, you can drill a hole in the trunk/boot lid to access the latch. Remove the rear license plate and drill a 1 to 2 inch in diameter hole in the trunk/boot lid, centered left-right and about 4 to 5 inches up form the bottom edge of the lid. You will drill trough the plastic trim and then through some thin metal framing of the lid. Once you have access, look for a metal linkage rod coming down and then into a plastic bushing. Use a screwdriver to press down on the linkage.
