Can't get used to those head lights & tail lights - BLING! BLING!
Just MHO, of course, YMMV, and to each his own. But I got my MY01 CLK55 back last night, 140 mile ride to get 'er home from the dealer all spit polished & purty with a brand new tranny tucked in place - and I can't wait to hop in for my 80 mile ride to work. She's a much classier looking body than the W209, if I do say so.

I really cannot wait to see this in person. I have to say, I really don't like the color but I really don't like the car either. The photos from Geneva are far more flattering. When I fisrt saw the w208 in the press kit I thought- the rims may need to go but WoW! Maybe this angle/color isn't flattering, but I NEED to see one in person ASAP. I know it could look phenomenal in person- but if it doesn't look alot better than this, my 2002 430 is going NOWHERE! Then again, mayb the body sculpting and the larger rims will make a big difference, I really hope so. My 2 cents...

Bobtail CLK
AT least in that ice blue photo, from the angle photographed, the new CLK's tail is too stubby. The roofline swoops back further than on the previous model, but there isn't any extention of the rear portion of the vehicle to compensate visually. (I'm just trying to get a handle on why the new CLK coupe seems to be missing something in looks compared to the previous model - maybe that's it.)
That also might explain why the photos we've seen of the awaited cabriolet version seem to be much more appealing. Of course we have yet to see what the cabriolet will look like with the top in place.
By the way is "ice blue" one of the available designo colors or is it a new standard color? A better color would be "glacier blue" which would be an almost white with a lighter blue tinge such as is visible when looking at glacier ice.

Darker colors look better I think- at least in photos:
