Well, glad to meet you all! I am another new member, a true defector from the BMW ranks. I've owned BMW's for the last 10 years!

Can't stand what they've done to the look of the 7 and 5 series. So I traded my 530i for a new 2005 CLK500 that I got 8/30.

Best feature= the looks and cruising performance!

Annoying Stuff=no oil dipstick in engine bay, Remote key doesn't preset driver position until you get in car, and that sucks when your wife is 8" shorter than you.

BTW, Can someone tell me how do you get to the stock air filters on this V8? I want to replace the stock air filters with K & N's. The front engine cover easily snaps off and then what???

Congrats and good luck with the 05-500. With respect to the filters, I believe you need a special patterned screw type driver to remove the screws holding the filter inside engine cover.

I'm w/ you Scovit, dumped my 528 for the clk. I was close on the new 5, but just wasn't sold on the looks...drove well though.
