Hi All,
W209 2004 CLK320 I have nothing but straight static on the radio but the cd player works great and sounds perfect. I have checked the fuses (the one in the trunk was blown and I have replaced it). Any suggestions? I read another post about disconnecting the orange fuse in the trunk fuse box but I dont see any orange big fuses? Anyone have a picture?

Did the trunk fuse blow again? If so, it's probably the security siren shorted, which takes out the antenna booster and remote unlock system (same circuit). Unhook the siren, tape off the pigtail, enjoy.
Funny you say that. The key fob doesnt work. I will try that and see if that works
were the "f" is the security siren on the w209. the w203 says in the drivers side wheel well but on the w209 it says its near the battery under the hood but I have looked everywhere and its not there.

what he said. I did it with great difficulty by turning the wheels to the left and pulling the liner. If doing again, I would jack up and pull the RF wheel (so much easier). Siren down low under the firewall, and is attached to a sheet metal bracket, which in turn is attached to permanent structure. I think I pulled the bracket AND siren. It MAY have taken "security Torx" drivers, but I think I used standard Allen wrenches in a pinch. Cannot recall. Tape the wiring harness connector to prevent corrosion until permanently fixed. Reassemble. Replace the fuse in the trunk (it has blown again). New Bosch sirens are about 140 aftermarketOriginally Posted by HETPE3B

Ok. That was pretty easy with taking the wheel off. Unplugged/removed siren. Taped off pigtail. Replaced fuse and stereo is now working but the fob is not? Replaced batteries in fob just to be safe. Still doesnt work... any thoughts? fyi everything worked until the radio/fob went out.

You feel the same way I did when I realized I didn't have to do a $2000 antenna amp...
