Just recently on my 08 CLK350, the screen on my COMAND unit either comes up OK or comes up completely distorted and after a some inconsistent number of power cycles, comes back normal again. Anyone else experience this? Anyone ever attempted a screen replacement? BTW, I am also running the latest software...

 

OK, decided to buy a replacement COMAND unit off Ebay to replace mine. Watched several youtubes on how to dismantle the dash to get to the head unit. Everything went well except now that I am trying to re-attach the wire harness to the replacement head unit and it just doesn't want to seat?!? @Rudney Werleman Hope you are still out there. Is there a secret to reconnecting the wire harness with it's +24 pins amongst other connections? It's a latching wire harness, but can't seem to get it to seat and then lock in. Anyone else have this issue? BTW, MB gave us very little wag in the harness wire length, so that is a struggle as well.

I assume you're talking about the quadlock. Get it oriented properly. flip the latch while pushing in at the same time.
