SRS Warning
2008 CLK550 - I routinely get an SRS warning indication when I start the car, along with the seat belt extender not functioning. I can pull the seat belt out and clip it in place and toggle the dash warning-off, but the seat belt light still flashes and the chime becomes very annoying after a few minutes.
I've looked through the various threads on this and can't find anything that specifically addresses the issue. 187k miles, 99.9% of those with only myself in the drivers seat, no passenger.
Anyone have any specific recommendations? My dealer isn't very thrilled to run a check on the car without repairing what is found, and isn't too thrilled to work on my 2008 model car.
Thanks!
I had the SRS warning come up on my 2009 last month, and this was right after the dealership did some vacuuming in my car. I checked under my seat and it looks like the vacuuming guy knocked the entire module out of place?? (It is only held in place by 2 plastic clips). I reseated the module and wiggled all the plugs there, and I have not encountered any more warning light since then. Give it a try. Hope it helps for you!
Otherwise, you can give all connections under the seat a shot of contact cleaner and see if it does anything. If you unplug anything, may be wise to disconnect your battery first.
