CLK w209 - help getting at stepper motor - clicking sound issue
Hi.
I'm attempting (first time, and not a mechanic), to replace the stepper motor, behind the cupholder area - which is making the dreaded clicking noise.
Having followed some great threads on here, this is how far I've got.
Problem: The trim on the left-hand side of the radio panel won't pop off.
Do I need to remove the whole glove box? (I've tried to see how, and research threads, but struggling to see how to do it.)
Any tips are appreciated. Am happy to post pictures and videos for others once I've got it all sorted.

Hi there,
It's been a while since I removed mine, but judging by pictures I took you'll need to remove both side panels (see picture, just in case LHD car).
I think I was able to replace one of the servos without removing it, but It was a nightmare.
BTW most of the time that clicking noise is made by a servo arm (a piece of white plastic which is moved by a servo) so you most likely you won't need to replace the servo itself.

Thanks for this. I've managed to remove the left hand side, and the clicking noise is coming from an area under the glove box. But I cannot locate the motor arm which is causing the issue.
Does this mean I need to take the entire upper dashboard off? I'm hoping not.

Finally found the thread: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...ml#post2030582
There is tons of information there (especially check 3 pdf files at the end of that post #18).
I'm sure you'll be able to find all answers there, if not ping me I'll check WIS.
BTW if you have access to a scan tool like iCarsoft MB II (highly recommend this scanner, it should be around $140), or Autel like MP/DS/MX808 or MB Star A/C diagnostic should tell you which exact arm is broken/jammed.
