I have a W209 or (C209) 2004 CLK240 - btw my vehicle has manual mirrors not the auto folding mirrors.
I am struggling to understand the procedure to remove and replace the LHS (passengers side - yes its a right hand drive vehicle) mirror turn signal. Have the error showing up on the dash.
I found two kind of helpful explanations but I still cant figure it out (I've attached a pdf and also a link to the YouTube video - though the video is for a 2009 which I do not think is the same as my 2004 - although does look the same as mine - very confusing.....).
in the youtube the guy says its slides off easily but he doesn't show how to do that - but mine does not slide, also someone previous to my ownership obviously had a go at it and rounded the Torx screw, I managed to get it out though.
Then I started to remove all the other Torx screws (hiolding the motor etc) but still couldn't figure out how to remove the housing so I can access the turn signal to replace it - I can see retaining clips as per the PDF attached but I dont know what sequence to unlock them so the housing comes apart, when I try to do it they release but don't stay released, and I dont want to force them in case they break!
Anyone have complete and detailed instructions for this year model by chance?
That turn indicator only is only holded in two places:
1) wiring connector.
2) one torx screw or a metal clip (earlier models where using metal clips there, mine was 04 as well and I had it).
