When raining, opening doors, get wet in Cabriolet

Hi all,
I had the cabriolet out today, as I got nearly home, it started raining heavily.
Now I reverse my car into the garage, so I stopped outside to let my passenger out. As he opened the door, there was a steady run of water coming down into the car, from where the fabric roof meets the metal of the windscreen frame.
Has anyone else experienced this before too?
I am assuming that the rubber seal couldn’t cope with the water volume coming off the fabric of the roof.
Can anyone please say if this is normal or not.
Cheers,
Graeme
