Hi guys , can someone please assist, my key only works when put on the sensor, tried checking fuse 8 etc, only thing left is antenna amplifier which under the dash. Is dash removal the only way to replace antenna amplifier?

2nd that. Have an '04 CLK 320 with the exact same issue. Key fob does will not lock/unlock unless you hold it right by the door handle. Any insight on how to fix would be greatly appreciated.

Ok so if fuse 8 in the boot is ok and key is ok, only thing left is the atenna amplifier that sits in the dash on the convertible not sure coupe. Apparently nearly the whole dash needs to be removed to replace it. The part i bought on ebay. Just google antenna amplifier for key on clk w209 and it should come up. Apparently the car has a few so make sure u get the that is meant to boost key signal. Im busy trying to get it done. Wish me luck
