Ignition funkyness - it was key fob issue

2007 CLK550

Car started to not lock or unlock via key fob. Once in a while it would work. Battery was new etc.

Then more and more frequently when turning key in ignition, it would power up the dashboard lights but then go off again after a split second and not start car.

Or i could start the car by turning key fast and it ran fine but no power to dashboard (gauges), no wiper or turn signals would work.
So strange.

Anyway, after doing research, i ordered a replacement key at the dealership, needed one anyway, and this fixed the situation.
just wanted to share..

Likely that moving NEC chip to newer key would fix it
