Playing dvds or vcds from COMAND

hey ive got a 04 clk with COMAND (cd based) would i be able to play vcds?(video cd) if not what would i need to play this...this way i can download music videos onto cds it would be very cool to have in the car...
Im guessing dvd's would not work for sure since this is a cd based navi but i saw a pic recently with what looked like a movie on the screen..and naturally i am very curious!!

well i tried a vcd in the comand system....didnt work hell it didnt even play the music! it was worth a shot.........

your comand is CD rom based and will not - CAN not - play any vcd's at all...

You have two options:

1. Get a TV Tuner plus a car DVD player

2. Get a Dietz video adaptor plus a car DVD player

My setup is the 2nd option since the TV receiption are really bad here in Oz...

this sounds cool. can you tell me where i can find this? and an estimate on pricing? i am in america and i have never hear of the name "dietz"
I am also interested in hooking up a backup camera system i found...will i be able to add this to my navigation system as an auxiliary option? thanks for your help

German ebay is the place to go... it's still not cheap but is cheaper compare to a TV Tuner. As for the backup camera, your probably better off getting a set of rear parktronic or one that is similar retrofitted.
