I have the Michelin Pilot Sports and up to a couple of inches the car was fine if you are a responsible driver. More than that though....forget it.

I do not see why anyone would drive a CLK in snow with summer tires. The car is relatively expensive and you need the added security especially with a rear-wheel drive car. Why take the chance to get stuck in the snow?

The way I look at it, you will wear out your summer tires in shorter time period. In the long run, you are not saving anything. Furthermore, more and more high performance winter tires perform quite well.

I just bought LM22 Bridgestones for the winter just to get a little more tread bite. They'll be fine for the Nov-Mar winter. Those Michelins are just not designed for any winter-like driving....
