What is this part called?

I bought my first Mercedes ( used) for my wife and doing some fixing. there is a little gasket-grommet-shield part that fits into the front latching mechanism of the convertible roof. one is missing and is the source of a passenger side leak. I have the driver side piece, see photos

1. what is this part called?

2. The driver side part fell out during my work on the roof. what is the proper orientation when I replaced the part. that is not clear to me.

Thank you to anyone who can help.

Unfortunately... no

Nothing... by phone a Mecedes parts dealer suggested it was a piece of the latch assembly and I would have to buy a latch assembly. Expensive to get the 25 cent grommet like cap.

I am used to Japanese cars. Toyota, Honda and Nissan. Easy to find and reasonable without drama. Hope I don't regret buying this car...
