2009 CLK350 cabriolet - non-staggered questions
Hello, I decided to hold off on my s550 coupe search and instead give my original 2009 clk350 cabriolet a new look. The car so far has been nearly flawless and still drives like new after 87k miles.
I recently had the car re-painted from factory Kalpana Black to Porsche's "Dark Metallic Blue" and sanded/buffed the same and the color looks great now - nearly black in the dark & changes color dramatically under the sun and in the evening. Will share pictures soon after I finish all the makeover
Next, I am tinting the taillights (light Smoke) & changing the wheels and have a few questions here. I have the factory staggered 17" wheels with sports suspension. 3 of the 4 GoodYear tires are practically brand new with less than 2-3k miles on them.
So I am thinking to go with the same 17" tires but new 17" wheels. Apart from not spending on new tires, I also like the current soft ride with 17" and worried w/ 18"+, I will feel more of the road & increased noise.
The 17" wheels I like do NOT come staggered. All 4 wheels are:
17 x 8.0, 5-112 bolt pattern, 35mm offset, Hub Bore Size - 66.6.
Q1. Will my current factory tire size front P225/45R17 and rear P245/40R17 fit w/o issues on the above wheel size? Esp since the factory wheels are 17 x 7.5 and 17 x 8.5.
Q2. If so, does the non-staggered look noticeable different or look terrible !? I tried to find pictures before and after pics on this forum and online w/o luck. If anyone can share pics of their non-staggered look on the CLK, that would be great.
Q3: And last, will it affect the performance or ride with the non-staggered and above size/spec ?
Thank you all in advance for your very valuable insight & help as always.
