CLK 200 2005

Hello All,
I hope i am in the right section, my CLK200 roof goes only go up halfway.
My local garage has sent it to Mercedes to get a diagnostic done on the roof after 2 day they have come back saying that it might be the pump and quoted me $12,000 to replace yes WTF i thought i asked the question if that does not fix it what happens then he said well i will have to ask my manager, confidence in them NOT , I would have thought that if it goes half way surely the pump is doing its job. My local guys replaced the seal from the pump due to a leak replaced a switch from there test meter but it still did not work so off it went to Mercedes.
Has anyone had the same issue as they seem to be stuck on what to do.
