clk200 mounting rear speakers
Hi guys
I am a new member on this forum and i apologize for this thread if it already exist; I have searched here and seems like I was unable to find a specific topic on my situations.
I have a 2007 clk200 avantgarde non convertible ,1.8 kompressor that I bought in 2021, has 160k on the clock and apart from the age related things, I can say it is the car that doesn't need to much to keep it going.
Back to the issue at hand, that is the audio system; it has the normal MB system ( head unit,CD unit in the glove compartment) 4 speakers and 2 tweeters and seems like no speakers in the rear.
I want to make an upgrade on the head unit( has bad reception on the radio, no AUX port, and the plastic foil is exfoliating and look bad) and mount a set of speakers in the rear and I want to go with original speaker system from a car that has rear audio system also.
Is there someone that made it and can share some inside information? or point me to the specific thread
Are the H/K second hand speakers, that you can find on ebay, worth buying in comparing with off the shelf speakers?
Any specific wiring that I have to buy also?
Does it worth the trouble?
Can you point out which stereo head unit is most compatible with the car as in audio optics and steering controls?
Is there someone in Ireland that can provide some aid with knowhow?
If someone has any of the above on the marketplace, I appreciate so much a link in that direction!
