Multimedia plays music but CD Changer produces no sound
Hello, I have this weird case where I can play music & cd discs from my centre multimedia console but when I load them from the cd changer in my glovebox I get no sound. The songs load and everything, the timer of each song runs fine but there is no sound. I searched on the internet about this problem but all I find is people with CDC 0 error which is not the case with me. Anyone knows what could it be?
The model is 2004 CLK w209 270 CDI with the facelift dashboard panels.

What head unit do you have?
Sounds like NTG1.5 with MOST for CD Player.
Do you have navigation system, if so where is Navi DVD inserted.
My initial guess is a MOST issue, and the MOST loop is broken. The head unit is the audio Gateway and amplifier, so anything played on this works fine, but external sources will not connect.

The CD Multichanger is connected by MOST fibre. Some part of the loop may not be working. Depending on options in the car there could be a lot of things that cause it.
However as it is showing disk data, this is also sent via MOST, so I believe the MOST is working.
I would conclude that there is a fault with the head unit.
You could try a STAR SDS diagnostic, but might be worth just replacing with a decent aftermarket unit or try a used head unit.
