Hi, I’m new here!
I have a 2008 CLK 350 convertible. Recently it would not start, completely dead, no interior lights, nothing. I checked the battery cables and they were tight. I replaced the battery and it still was dead. After a few days, it suddenly decided to run, for a few more days. Now it’s dead again. Again, no interior lights, no nothing.
I searched and there is no auxiliary battery. Could I have a short? Is there a known issue like this? Any insight appreciated.

Have you checked battery voltage, both before starting, and after starting with engine running. Will tell a lot about battery and charging system.
Also disconnect battery and clean terminals and clamps and refit securely. Corrosion between clamp and terminal can cause erratic issues if battery is fully charged, and no cranking.
