Sluggish after intake manifold, fix

So I’ve done a few of these and prior to me doing this the car was pretty good but I know the flap wasn’t working. It was stuck in the full open position so I wanted to fix it anyways.

But I have fixed it but I the car today which I don’t drive very often. When you go to start off at an intersection or stop, it’s got no power at all.

I did the pedal reset scenario and that didn’t help but it’s just very strange after the intake change when you stop at a satellites and you go to give it gas. It’s got no takeoff at all. Just looking for tips and tricks of what to look at first. I’ve been working on these cars for years, but I never ran into this problem.

Now it Hass to do something with the intake, obviously because that’s when it all started the arm, the flapper was broken but the car was running really well. Should’ve maybe left well enough alone.

It feels the equivalent, as if you were driving a stick vehicle, and you were starting off from like third gear

and this happens regardless, first gear second gear, third gear takeoffs, so it’s not a transmission issue. I’m pretty sure.

Any codes? Did you use a good repair kit. I got a cheap one from China, and it was obvious that it wouldn't work, as it kept binding up and locking the flaps.

Bought a more expensive one that was 100% better made.

Can you see the flap operation?

Just because it is made of steel, does not make it a good one. All replacement arms are steel. Can you see it actuate? can you reach the arm from the vacuum unit and operate it. If you suck the vacuum line does it move? Do the two othe flaps operate in same way.

In STAR SDS you can actuate them from laptop.

Are all vacuum lines in place. There is one on the front which is easily damaged when disconnecting hose.

I have worked on over 15 of these. There is a spring action even with them broken not working. It doesn’t cause this type of reaction so it has nothing to do with the arm or the flaps in the intake.
