Transmission on 2003 CLK500 not working

Hi, I have a 2003 CLK500 with the 5 speed automatic transmission and the vehicle is whining when driving. vehicle will not come out of first gear when drove. (In limp mode) it also takes a long time to actually shift into drive from park or reverse.
the codes it is putting up are: P2500 & P2502 (P2600, P2401, P2402, P2403 EVAP related)
The issue originally started when the transmission cooler line shot out of the cooler while driving and the car lost pretty much all the fluid in it. I have connected the line back up with a new O ring and have filled the oil back up but the issue persists. My local shop is convinced that the car needs a new transmission but if it does I will probably just scrap the car as it is not worth that kind of money. Any ideas?
